"The Village Inn has wonderful homestyle and gourmet food. I love selecting from the daily specials, and the fish fry on Wednesdays and Fridays is awesome! It's a friendly place with excellent service. And let's not forget those amazing soups!!!"

"If a friend hadn't recommended this restaurant we would never have found it. It is located on a residential street and looks like just another house. It is not a large restaurant but that adds to it's charm. The menu was varied and the servings were huge. We both had the 1/2 chicken dinner. One dinner would have been more than enough for us to share. The chicken was huge and the fries were plentiful and delicious (hand cut). We will definitely be going back to try something else on the menu. Be sure to get the address and use your GPS otherwise you will never find the restaurant. Only the locals know where it is."

"This is a very nice casual restaurant in Grand Island. You can enjoy every meal sitting on their enclosed porch or in the dining room. The menu offerings are very good and plentiful. The soups, made in house, are always excellent."

"Unfortunately these days it's very rare to experience excellent customer service so when I do I feel the need to share my experience!! I just ordered take out from The Village Inn, a local favorite of mine on Grand Island, for me and my family. After picking it up, throwing comfy clothes on and popping a movie in for me and my boy I noticed they forgot one of our items. I wasn't too upset because I've never not had a good experience at Village Inn...I was just dreading putting my normal "I'm in public now" clothes back on lol. Anyway, I called them to see if I could come pick it up and the owner Mike not only asks to speak to me to personally apologize but he also INSISTED on delivering my food to me. I thought that was so nice of him! Then he shows up minutes later, apologizes again, and hands me a gift certificate for a future dinner. Now that is the type of business man I respect!! I wish there were more like him!! Food was of course delicious as usual. The Village Inn has always been one of my favorite restaurants but today just made it even better, feels good to feel like a valued customer!"

"Superior service, local draft beer selection outstanding. Three styles of fish fry; beer battered, Italian and panko breaded. Fried to perfection with a solid assortment of sides. Try the deep fried dill pickle spears, they are the best in Erie County. Fridays are busy so get in the door and belly up to the bar and enjoy the quaint ambiance of small town dining with serious comfort foods. The beef on weck stands up to the best in Buffalo."

The wings are excellent and very large also the fish fries served on Wednesday and Friday are excellent. The beef on weck and burgers are also winners on the menu. You'll be happy you tried it!!!"

"My husband and I are "Islanders" and love The Village Inn. Great food, generous portions both from the kitchen and the bar! The Fish Fry is definitely our favorite but we have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. Add reasonable prices and friendly staff and you have a 5 star experience."

"A tiny, family restaurant tucked away on Grand Island. We enjoyed some terrific Beef on Weck. It was delicious, tender, and soaked in tasty au jus. They label it as "award winning" on their menu and I have to believe them--it was excellent."

"The moment I called Sarah, I knew it would all work out and be the huge success Dave's 60th birthday party was. Everyone of the staff helped me by doing whatever I needed. They hung up banners, placed balloons, and decorated the huge table. The food was delicious and Sarah made wonderful pies that I had asked for that melted in your mouth! Please take your sweetheart or family there for a special night or date night."

"Home cooking at its best, everything is homemade with lots of choices. Wide varied menu, waiters know the menu items (some even do the cooking and baking, from scratch). Both my sister and I ordered the salmon dish, grilled perfectly. Vegetables (green and yellow beans) were fresh from the garden - delicious! I opted for mac and cheese as my side while my sister ordered the potato pancakes. Both were yummy. No room for dessert so we ordered the cherry almond bread pudding to go. Enjoyed it later that evening. What a great find, will definitely return!"

"Wish we could have found this restaurant when we first got here. Food is great, granted we had to rush due to our Niagara tour. Wanted to try the Blueberry Crisp! Very friendly staff and fast service! A+++++ from us visitors from Texas!"

"Loved this little unassuming family restaurant on Grand Island! The place was jumpin' on a Friday evening, so we had a bit of a wait. But it was worth it!

I ordered the lemon/Tabasco clam chowder and I believe I had a spiritual experience upon tasting it. Amazing. Creamy, tangy, perfect.

I also had the fish fry wish was crispy and hanging off my plate like any good fish fry should. It was flipping fantastic.

The banana cheesecake (YUM!) and this chocolate cake with ice cream and fresh whipped cream in a mason jar was like a heaven on earth. Truly. It was hot, cold, creamy, delicious. I believe I thanked the baker profusely (she's a friend of the person I was dining with).

I'd go back to this little spot again and again for some homey, delicious eats any day of the week and twice on Sunday. YUM!"

"Brought my family here for diner on a Saturday evening after reading the reviews from other diners on trip advisor. Having spent the day @Niagara Falls we were looking for good food at a reasonable price. the place is near the end of the street in an older house converted to a restaurant. we found parking along the road as the lot beside it was full. the place was packed. we waited about 10 mins for a table. My wife and i had the fish diiners. Wow!. thats a plate full for $12. my wife also had their homemade soup. She enjoyed it. they brought bread with butter before our entrees. The 4 of us ate very well for under $50. (my wife an i each had a beer which accounted for $10 of the tab) I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some good local fare at a reasonable price."

"The best soup in WNY! A changing variety and everyone is perfect! Good sandwiches and great burgers. A great place for lunch or light fare. Dinners aren't bad but this is a lunch place or similar food."

"Aw, this place is just darlin'. A restaurant inside an old house? Cuteness. And by the water? Adorbs!

Due to the busy day at work, we called in an order for pick-up. Village Inn has a really large menu with a bunch of tasty items [wraps, salads, melts]. I stayed simple with a roast beef hero (with chips0. It was good and hit the spot of lunch. If were not for a fear of an afternoon food coma, I would have loved to try one of the 'fancier' items. Yum!"

"Although difficult to locate, it was worth the jaunt. The fried fish was the best I have eaten. Not greasy and very flaky. The cole slaw was light and refreshing. When I return, I will try a desert since I hear they are to die for."

"The Village Inn never disappoints! We went on a Saturday night around dinner time and the place was packed in winter! Great variety for a reasonable price. I had the chicken parmigana and took half of it home. Home made desserts are always delish! Highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Are you kidding me? This place is amazing! The food, the beer, the people.

It's so cute and quaint. Love that it look like someones home from the outside but it's a cool neighborhood type bar.

I'm in love with their soups! The lemon Tabasco clam chowder is to die for! Everything else is great too. And, they have the best pub fries ever! The daily specials are an easy fix for someone like me (indecisive).

Can't wait for my next visit to Grand Island just so I can visit The Village Inn for lunch."

"Wonderful little restaurant in an out of the way spot. Menu had a nice selection. Servers were very friendly and checked on us often. We had the fried fish Wednesday night special. It was a great fish with a very light beer batter. We would definitely go here again. "

"An interesting building for a restaurant, assuming it was a home at one point, so its quite cosy. The service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and in my opinion, well worth the little extra money. Spicy Clam Chowder was some of the best I have tasted. The Rolo Cheesecake was yummy! Everything felt home made, real good food made with pride."
